Patient satisfaction and confidence, orthodontist Liverpool

It was a century ago that an American dentist, ironically with the surname of Angle, developed the practice of correcting malocclusions. In those days, having a well-aligned smile was almost as important to us as it is today. At Liverpool Smile Studio, we aim to produce a confident, satisfied smile on the faces of all our patients.

A new world of misalignment correction

There was a time when being referred to a dental specialist would fill a patient with trepidation. Fortunately, the new age of technological and dental science has helped to allay those feelings. Today, our orthodontist Liverpool has a plethora of equipment ranging from appliances to computer hardware and software to make your dental visit a more comfortable and satisfying one.

Patient-focused appliances

Orthodontic misalignment treatment has moved from having a very limited number of appliances to having a variety that is more patient-focused and designed to correct specific conditions. There are now braces that fit onto the front of the teeth that can be either clear or tooth-coloured so that they are less conspicuous. There are also lingual braces, which can be fitted onto behind your teeth, making them virtually impossible to see. One of the latest appliances is the aligner, which fits over your teeth in the same way that you would wear a gum shield. These aligners are made from a clear dental material, which makes them very hard to detect. All of these appliances have been designed with the patient in mind, making the process quicker, more efficient and more comfortable.

Computer-aided diagnostics

Computer technology now plays a very important role in helping to produce dental treatment plans and accurate diagnoses. By combining suites of programs, our orthodontist Liverpool can utilise the diagnostic features of the available software to make an accurate diagnosis of the condition. With the use of 3D scanners that can take as many as 6000 pictures a second and a variety of other amazing equipment, we can use our knowledge and training to assess which treatments suit our patients well.

In the past, dental moulds and written or typed information had to be posted to a laboratory, but now, our orthodontist Liverpool can send the relevant information digitally, reducing your waiting time enormously. In some instances, we can show a patient a view of their smile before we start treatment so that they can decide whether they are happy to proceed.

Making smiling possible

Suffering from dental misalignment can be quite debilitating not only from a practical point of view but mentally as well. Many patients become so self-conscious that they develop the habit of covering their mouths with their hands when they want to smile. From a dental point of view, the twenty-first century is a time to smile, and with all the equipment and techniques that we have at our disposal, nobody needs to continue suffering from dental misalignment. We can help by realigning your teeth and allowing you to chew your food properly and smile broadly and confidently.
