Technological advances have allowed the dental industry to make some incredible advances in techniques and equipment over the past decades. Because the trays are transparent they are less visible and they can be removed for brushing and flossing, as well as eating and drinking. They must be worn for a minimum of twenty-two hours per day. They also only require a visit to the surgery around every three to four weeks for the next tray to be fitted. These visits are much quicker than for fitted braces as there are no adjustments required, just a progress assessment and fitting of a new tray over the teeth.
