What if you could make your teeth as beautiful as your nails in an instant? Well, in Liverpool, veneers can give your chipped, broken, stained, cracked or misaligned teeth an instant make over.
Veneers in Liverpool are either made of porcelain, or a material known as composite.
At Liverpool Smile Studio, we generally use porcelain veneers, which are custom-made to blend in with your teeth. It usually takes two visits to fit the veneers in Liverpool: one to take impressions of your teeth to send to the lab for veneers to be made, and one to fit them.
If the veneers are fixed on after they are made, the dentist usually has to prepare the tooth first so that the veneer can be glued onto it. This means that the top-most layer of the tooth enamel is removed in order to create a rough surface for the fixative to adhere too, rather like the old gloss paint on a door has to be keyed before more paint is applied.
The fitting is performed under local anaesthetic, and, if you are nervous, you can also receive sedation. Once the veneers have been fitted, if you take care of them, they can last for more than ten years.
The composite veneers in Liverpool are generally moulded onto your teeth by your dentist (although they can be made separately in a lab and fixed on afterwards), using composite material similar to that which is used in white fillings. The material used is often a resin called Panavia.
Miraculous things can be done with veneers. They can be used on small teeth to make them bigger and close up the gaps between them. They can be put over a crooked tooth to make it appear straight. They can lengthen teeth worn down by use. They can fill the black triangles between teeth caused by receding gums. They can strengthen weak teeth, whiten yellow teeth that do not respond to whitening.
